In a Leger poll commissioned by the Montreal Economic Institute (MEI), 65 per cent of Quebecers, 2 out of every 3, said that they prefer oil brought into Quebec for consumption come from Western Canada. That’s an increase of 6 per cent versus a similar poll done a year earlier. Some other interesting results:
- 56% of respondents want Quebec to exploit its own oil resources to decrease dependence on imports;
- 41% consider pipelines to be the safest means to transport oil (versus tanker truck, train or ship);
The poll was conducted between April 17 and 19, 2017. Read the news results and find the full results of the poll on the MEI website.
