Canada's oil sands producers spent $3.2 billion in 2016-17 purchasing supplies and services from Canadian companies outside of Alberta. That means tens of thousands of good jobs for Canadians from coast to coast. However that spend is only half what it was in 2014-15. Falling investment in this critical industry is having a negative ripple effect on companies, contractors and families across the country.
