Why we need to hit pause on Bill C-69

The attempted rewrite of Canada’s regulatory approval system needs changes if we really want to restore Canadian confidence.

CAPP climate director Patrick McDonald discusses the federal government’s Bill C-69, an attempt to overhaul Canada’s environmental review and regulatory approval process. The government is indicating that it hopes the new legislation, which is currently under review in the Senate, will restore confidence in Canada’s regulatory system. Unfortunately, as currently worded, the bill has the potential to do the opposite.
